Privacy Policy

TL;DR

We collect what we need to match you with scholarships and internships. We don't sell your data. We use it to make the app work. You can delete your account anytime from Settings.

What we collect

• Account information. Name, email, password (hashed), and your school. Used to identify your account and route matches.
• Academic profile. GPA range, intended major, education level, state, and (optionally) demographic information you provide. Used by our matching algorithm. Demographic info is optional.
• Activity. Scholarships and internships you swipe, save, and apply to. Used to power your dashboard and avoid showing the same opportunity twice.
• Device and analytics. Device type, OS version, app version, and basic usage metrics. Used for debugging and improving the product.
• Notification tokens. When you opt in, we schedule local reminders on your device. We do not send remote push notifications.

How we use it

• Match you to relevant scholarships and internships.
• Power AI essay drafting (your profile data is sent to Google Gemini under their data processing terms, never used for model training).
• Calculate your overlap score and winning odds.
• Detect spam, abuse, and security issues.
• Reach you about service-critical updates only.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your personal data.
• We don't share your profile with scholarship sponsors without your explicit action (i.e. you submitting an application).
• We don't use your data to train AI models.

Third parties we work with

• Firebase (Google). Hosts authentication, our database, and Cloud Functions.
• Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). Serves ads. Subject to your tracking preferences (iOS App Tracking Transparency).
• RevenueCat. Manages Pro subscriptions.
• Google Gemini. Powers AI essay generation.

Your rights

You can:

• Delete your account and all associated data from Settings → Delete Account. This is permanent.
• Request a copy of your data by emailing clover+privacy@buildifyhq.com.
• Opt out of personalized ads at any time (iOS: Settings → Privacy → Tracking).

Children

Clover is intended for users 13 and older. Users must affirm they are 13+ during sign-up. If you believe a child under 13 has signed up, please email clover+privacy@buildifyhq.com and we will delete the account.
